Official: Everton could be without midfielder against Leicester due to ‘hamstring problem’

|

Everton have confirmed that Fabian Delph still has a ‘hamstring problem’ that could lead to him missing out against Leicester City on Sunday. The 30-year-old has been out of action since early-November, but he may not be passed fit in time to face the high-flying Foxes.

What will the result be vs Leicester?

Foxes win

Draw

Blues win

Delph has made 10 appearances in all competitions this season, but he’s featured only three times for Everton in the last two months after suffering a setback in his recovery.

The England international missed the Toffees’ 2-0 win over West Ham United (October 19) but returned in their 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion (October 26) and 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur (November 3).

Delph has been sidelined ever since, however, sitting out of Everton’s 2-1 win over Southampton (November 9) and 2-0 defeat to Norwich City (November 23). If he doesn’t feature on Sunday, it will be a month since his last appearance.

The last thing Marco Silva needs is to lose another midfielder. The Blues are already without Jean-Philippe Gbamin (thigh), Andre Gomes (ankle) and Beni Baningime (knock), so they’re short of cover in a key area.

Silva will be desperate for Delph to return over the weekend as a result.
