A few Everton fans have been reacting on social media to reports by Calciomercato, claiming Bernard wants to join AS Roma in the summer.
The Italian publication suggest the Brazilian has a ‘desire’ to reunite with Giallorossi boss Paulo Fonseca at the close of the current campaign, having worked under the Italian while with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Bernard is alleged to feel he would earn more regular game time under his former head coach, having been in and out of the Toffees line-up this season with six starts under both of Marco Silva and Carlo Ancelotti across 19 Premier League outings to date.
Life under Ancelotti is thought to have been particularly difficult for the 27-year-old midfielder since the Italian’s arrival at Goodison Park, and Bernard could be offered his chance to start anew in Rome for between €18m and €20million (£15.8m-£17.5m)
Few supporters would seemingly miss Bernard if he were to leave in the summer, with a smattering of Blues fans taking to social media to suggest they ‘wouldn’t lose any sleep’ over his exit and that any payday from the £120,000-per-week wide man’s departure would be beneficial given he was signed as a free agent.
Bernard, though, does not appear to be planning on moving away from Merseyside just yet, as the Clube Atletico Mineiro product responded to one support on Instagram to state that the recent speculation he had been offered to Roma was a ‘lie’

Wouldn’t be a huge loss. Make way in our squad for Todd Cantwell

Personally I would sell him. Two years of Not a whole lot really and as gifted as he is, we could use the money better elsewhere I feel.
Also ancelotti has started him 4 times and subbed him at half time for two of those games.
I would sell.

Sell him, he’s not up to it. Got him on a free so would be good for FFP, plus I presume he’s on big wages too.

In other Everton news, Marcel Brands making moves to sign a 2-cap defender this summer seem unlikely following claims the 27-year-old would be an ideal target.
