Everton have shown signs of progression under the guidance of Marco Silva but there is certainly still plenty of work to be done, particularly in the final third.
The Toffees have struggled for consistency in front of goal since losing Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United in 2017 and it seems the club are finally looking to fix that issue during the January transfer window.
Il Messaggero report that Everton have expressed an interest in bringing former Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko back to the Premier League, where he won the title twice in 2011-12 and 2013-14, which has led to some reaction from fans on social media.
Now 32, the Bosnian international boasts 99 caps for his nation and would provide plenty of experience to Everton’s attacking line but fans have been disagreeing on whether he would be a decent short-term fix to their issues.
We have gathered some of their reactions below.
I would love Edin Dzeko at Everton but any again it would be a short term fix 18 months best maybe 2 n half seasons doesn’t really seem to be Marcel Brands style

I’d have Eden Dzeko in a heartbeat at #Everton not the answer long term but would do a job for us for the next year at least. #EFC

Short term fix, which is what we need, then develop DCL, Simms and purchase a younger player in the summer perhaps. Dzeko is class

We need an Edin Dzeko type striker , big strong target man, who can keep hold of the ball & bring others into play #EFC

Id be very happy with this, even at 33. All depends on the price though
