If anyone was expecting much more from him this season then they need a reality check.
Beckford was signed as a no-lose gamble by Moyes. He was signed on a free from then Division One Leeds United.
He needs time to adjust and he needs time to learn and adapt to the Premier League.
He has the potential but you have to give him the chance to find his feet, just look how long it has taken others to find their feet when moving clubs and divisions.
Becks continued: “I knew my first season would be one where I learnt the Everton way of doing things. I know there is stuff I need to improve on and I am working hard to do so.’
And yet despite learning and adapting to the Premier League he has still hit the net 6 times this season, all from the bench.
Just give him time, I’m sure he will come good.
