No Change In Strategy From Everton Despite Poor Form

With only one victory in the last eight and the very heavy loss to Tottenham Hotspur, along with additional disappointing defeats for Everton, we have prepared as best we can for today’s clash with Lincoln City.

Without meaning to insult our visiting opposition on the day as they have been impressive in the lower reaches of the English pyramid in recent times, topping League Two at the moment and looking like a club on the up, another defeat for manager Marco Silva doesn’t bare thinking about and in reality, even allowing for changes, we should be looking to the players selected to send their own point with the performance and victory.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Friday to preview the game, our form obviously became a topic for questioning, and so did our transfer policy, but the gaffer was adamant we would see this period through – there would be no panic signings and our long term aim and strategy remained the same.

“We cannot change every week our idea and philosophy as a club if you win two games or you don’t win two games. I understand our recent form wasn’t good enough for us, but it is a moment, and we are capable of changing things for us again. I will not come here and say ‘We need this and this and this’ – everything we are doing we have been doing from the first day we are here.”

For those fans wanting the club to take a longer picture, they’ll probably take this as good news. For those wanting success more instantly, they probably won’t – we’ll just have to see where we are when the window closes as I don’t see changing another manager as being useful.
