“Sooner players like him are gone the better” – Some Everton fans react as Brands agrees 29y/o’s exit

Some Everton fans have been reacting on social media, after Football Insider claimed Oumar Niasse has rejected multiple opportunities to leave the club.

Director of Football Marcel Brands is keen to offload the former Senegal international this month, and is working on deals to sell Niasse and fellow outcast Cuco Martina with both heavily out of favour at Goodison Park.

Carlo Ancelotti does not see a role for Niasse to play in his plans on Merseyside having spent close to a month getting accustomed to his squad, and has given Brands the green light to offload the 29-year-old.

Niasse has featured just twice in the Premier League this season, having been handed a one-minute run-out in the closing stages of our 1-1 draw with Manchester United by Duncan Ferguson before playing the final 16 minutes of Saturday’s 1-1 draw at West Ham under Ancelotti. He has also been omitted from the matchday squad on more than 20 occasions in all competitions this season.

Does Niasse deserve another shot at Goodison Park?

Yes

No

Brands is said to have made arrangments with two Championship sides that would have seen Niasse spend the second half of the campaign out on loan, but the forward is refusing to drop down a division.

Niasse feels the lower tiers are below his playing standard, and will only leave Goodison Park if a suitable option is presented to him.

The £3.6million-rated centre-forward is out of contract in the summer and will become a free agent on July 1, should Brands not be able to offload his £55,000-per-week contract this month.

Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to reports of Niasse rejecting Brands’ done deal for a temporary move away…

In other Everton news, Ancelotti is reportedly keen to land a €20million defender, but the club lag behind a European giant in the race for his signature.
