Everton’s recent blip extended to three games without a win after a frustrating draw with Watford at Goodison Park on Monday evening.
Richarlison struck after 15 minutes to give the hosts the lead but Seamus Coleman put the ball into his own net in the second half to equalise, before Abdoulaye Doucoure turned the game on its head minutes later by firing the Hornets in front.
The Toffees secured a point at the death thanks to Lucas Digne’s spectacular free-kick but the overall performance left many fans disappointed – and Gylfi Sigurdsson was criticised after another sub-par performance.
The Iceland international missed a penalty shortly after Doucoure had handed the visiting side the lead, which proved to be costly in the end as Everton missed the chance to pull level on points with Manchester United.
Fans took to social media expressing the need for Sigurdsson to improve in the coming weeks and we have gathered some of their comments below.
Last two games not good enough at all. Gueye and Sigurdsson in particular. Can’t have a penalty taker with a less than 50% conversion rate taking pens.

Few poor games by Sigurdsson now. Need a masterclass by him against city

2nd best all over the park tonight. Coleman is finished. Don't ever want to see sigurdsson take another penalty he's worse at penalties than he is beating the first man at a corner ffs
