Moyes on Terry tackle

In my opinion, out of all the Premier League managers Moyes has always been the leader in this aspect.

After Everton’s draw with Chelsea, Moyes could well have come out and said he did not see the Terry incident, and that perhaps it must have been a red card offence if the referee deemed it so.

Also the disallowed goal from Steven Pienaar, Moyes was honest enough to stick his hand up and congratulate the officials on making the correct decision as the goal was clearly offside and Petr Cech had the ball in two hands.

With regards to the Terry decision, Moyes was full of praise for the way in which the England captain conducted himself following what at the time seemed a contentious decision.

“The world of football has changed. I`m not sure it`s for the better but if I was John Terry, I would have gone for the same ball.

“In my day you would probably have got a booking for it, maybe even a warning. I might not even have got to the ball! But you maybe have to be a different type of defender these days.

“John Terry is a good lad and admire him because he is wholehearted. He came to see Leon Osman afterwards. He asked to see if was okay and had a quick word with him. That`s fine by me. I don`t think for one minute that John Terry was out to do him any harm.”
