Everton once again found a way to lose at home, going down 3-2 to West Ham despite cruising to a win for most of the game.

The blues had been down to ten men since the 34th minute but non the less were very comfortable and had since added a second goal to make it 2-0, and continued to have the best chances in the game.

The two biggest of which a penalty and one on one that Lukaku somehow managed to miss both of. Everton then snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, again, falling to a 3-2 defeat with some pathetic defending at the end of the game when Martinez had taken off blues best player Aaron Lennon, and then key outlet Lukaku.

The manager himself was shocked to see Lukaku miss the crucial chances with the season he’s had. Martinez, speaking after the game to the official site:

“We were the better side, creating chances and nullifying their threat completely.”

“The penalty, for me, was a big psychological blow. Romelu Lukaku is such a reliable footballer and I think it gave us a bit of a shock.”

“At 3-0, I think the game would have been over – but instead it gave them hope. Then they got a goal from a second phase from a set piece and, all of a sudden, we found it very difficult to be able to do the things we`d done so well in the final minutes.”

“It is infuriating in the way we were defeated at home, but I thought for spells we were outstanding.”

The blues home league form reads played 15, won 4, drawn 4, lost 7. Quite how the delusional mastermind behind that form maintains his job is anyone’s guess.
