Marco Silva could be without 28-year-old Everton man against Brighton on Saturday

According to Sky Sports News, Marco Silva could be without Cenk Tosun against Brighton as the 28-year-old is still recovering from a groin injury.

Tosun was left out of Everton’s 1-0 defeat to Burnley (October 5) before the international break and didn’t return in their 2-0 win over West Ham United (October 20). He picked up the knock on international duty with Turkey and may be absent for Saturday’s clash too.

Silva won’t be too distraught, however, as Tosun has even struggled to make the matchday squad when fully fit. The Everton striker has racked up 51 minutes of football in all competitions this season and doesn’t appear to have a future at Goodison Park.

Tosun has been an unused substitute against Crystal Palace (August 10), Watford (August 17), Wolverhampton Wanderers (September 1) and Manchester City (September 28), and was left out of the matchday squad against Aston Villa (August 23), Bournemouth (September 15) and Burnley before the West Ham clash.

Richarlison, Moise Kean and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are ahead of Tosun in the pecking order, so a move away from Everton could be on the cards for the Turkish striker in January.
