Marcel Brands willing to delight Everton fans with €30million signing – report

|

Most, if not all, of our fans have been screaming out for Marcel Brands to make Andre Gomes’ loan move from Barcelona permanent, having seen the Portuguese midfielder cement his place in Marco Silva’s plans with great quality in possession.

Now, it seems, our Director of Football is willing to delight those among us keen on the 25-year-old, as Sport have claimed that Everton are willing to pay between €25m and €30million (£21.5m and £25.9m) for the one-time UEFA European Champion.

The Catalan daily newspaper have given no indications as to how that offer will be received at the Camp Nou, but comes amid a report detailing who will likely be leaving the La Liga champions.

It is noted that Gomes, along with Denis Suarez and Arda Turan, are three players currently away from Barcelona on loan deals that have no hope of a future under Ernesto Valverde, and that Barca’s intention is to cash-in on the trio this summer.

The futures of Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti are also currently in doubt but are expected to be sold, while Jasper Cillessen, Rafael Alcantara, and Malcom’s situations are the most uncertain.

Sport claiming that we are willing to offer up to £25.9million for Gomes comes at a somewhat interesting point, as GOL digital had suggested that the Portuguese would be heading back to Catalunya.

They claimed that our interest in Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso had reached a point that Brands was willing to see Gomes leave Goodison, and instead lodge a bid close to €45million (£38.8m) for the Argentine – near double what the La Liga side recently paid Paris Saint-Germain to trigger their option-to-buy.
