Graham liver-poll has finally come out and said he go it wrong! Speaking about his time in his now past job Mr Poll conceded he got that decision wrong, yes I am talking about the 2000 derby when everton were denied a perfectly legitimate goal when Liverpool goalkeeper Sander Westerveld inadvertently blasted a clearance against the back of Everton’s Don Hutchinson. This would of completed a league double over the red side, something the blues haven’t achieved since.

Poll said: ‘I made a right ricket in the last minute and disallowed what was probably a perfectly good goal. I tried to explain it away but when I watched it back I thought ‘maybe I should have kept my mouth shut’.’

Yes Graham Maybe you should, eh?

This wasn’t all Mr liver-poll had to say, he continues to discuss at great length how the FA don’t protect him. Well perhaps graham, maybe if you weren’t so useless you wouldn’t need to be protected.

He added: ‘It is a difficult job and what I am trying to do is highlight what a difficult job it is. In the ideal world you would come out afterwards and admit when you have got something wrong. I recall Paul Durkin, when he was refereeing, doing just that on a number of occasions. It is a tricky one if you go out on the first day of the season and say you got something wrong it is a credibility issue. The question is, how many times is a manager asked ‘why did you make that substitution?’ It is only the referee who is examined closely for every mistake.’

Oh yes graham of course nobody ever questions a managers decision do they, maybe it would of been wiser to consider that managers get sacked when they make bad decisions, whereas he seemed to get propelled forwards in his career.
