Everton fans have been reacting on social media to a report suggesting that Cenk Tosun is wanted by Crystal Palace.
The BBC reported on Thursday evening that the Eagles were in the hunt for the Toffees’ fringe striker, and could launch a loan proposal before next week’s transfer deadline.
Tosun has struggled to establish himself in the starting XI at Goodison Park since moving to Merseyside a year ago, and has only featured 19 times under Marco Silva and returned his Portuguese manager’s sparse faith with an appalling two goals.
If Marcel Brands and Silva agree on allowing the £18million-rated striker, per TransferMarkt, to leave in January, on loan or otherwise, it would leave the Everton boss with Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin as his only senior options up front.
Oumar Niasse had appeared to be back in the frame at Goodison Park when Silva offered the Senegal international a recall over Christmas, but the 28-year-old has since joined Cardiff on loan until the end of the season, and the Bluebirds hold an option to buy in the summer.
As for Tosun, while some fans have voiced their objection to the potential move, the mass feeling seems to be frustration on the club’s transfer policy…

Is our new transfer policy ‘Try before you buy, all returns accepted, no questions asked’? Just get him off the wage bill.
