The Wrexham born midfielder is apparently the subject of interest from a number of clubs including Everton, Wigan, Fulham and Cardiff City.
However, according to sources close to the Welsh international, the former Tranmere midfielder craves a move back to the North West, suggesting Everton and Wigan lead the race for his signature.
Koumas is said to have received firm offers from both Everton and Cardiff City but the lure of european and premier league football should prove too hard to resist.
A decision is expected to be made after Koumas returns from his holidays.
