Key Everton ace shares the Marco Silva decision that is returning better results

|

Lucas Digne has been earning the praises of many Everton fans this season, and the Frenchman is easily a contender for our Player of the Season Award.

The former Barcelona left-back, though, has been divulging with the club’s official website which move Marco Silva made that he feels saw our form return.

Digne had been a part of the first-team that originally saw our season kick-start in September, but as our form dried up, the boss began to chop and change the line-up. Unfortunately, this meant the chemistry between the players was no longer there and – among our other struggles, namely with set pieces – it took a while to get back on track.

For our last six games, though, Silva has favoured Bernard to serve as our first-choice left-midfielder, and the Brazilian has thrived.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk man also finally managed to score his first goal in the Premier League when we beat West Ham at the London Stadium, and Digne clearly loves sharing the flank with the 26-year-old.

“If you play a lot with one player in front of you, you understand him better,” Digne said. “We have a good feeling on and off the pitch [me and Bernard].

“For me, it is important to have a good relationship with the winger in front of you. Bernard is a very good player and a good guy.

“It is normal that after some months together we are building something and creating relationships. You start to know the person and the player better. This year we are building something with a lot of new players.

“We are developing understandings, with the coach and staff, and working very hard for the club. And now some results are really good, and we need to push again on Sunday for the victory.”
