Everton have endured a turbulent few seasons, falling from European regulars to a mid-table side that struggled to find it’s feet. While things have improved slightly under Marco Silva, there is still a lot of work to be done.
One major annoyance from the supporters is the failure to replace Romelu Lukaku after his departure to join Manchester United in 2017, with the Toffees continuing to lack a leading striker in the final third who can spark success within the club.
While the exit of Lukaku was inevitable, not replacing the Belgium star seems to have also irked players within the squad as former ace Kevin Mirallas has hit out with strong claims, stating the club is run like a business and not as a family.
Now on loan with Fiorentina, his comments attracted plenty of sensationalist headlines but a lot of Everton fans on social media expressed they believe the same thing – although not everyone agreed.
We have gathered some of the best responses below.
Can't actually disagree with any of what he says. But his attitude on the pitch was pretty embarrassing towards the end

What’s he said that’s so out of order? He sounds just as bemused as the rest of us over our transfer activity then.

We dont want to be a family, we want to be a successful football club.

About time the club was run properly instead of a circus, this is what happens when proper business men come in, they try and move the club forward. The fans side of things will never change

He’s right about the whole family/business thing, tbf to him. Still doesn’t change the fact that he just wasn’t good enough in the end.
