Former Everton supporter Jamie Carragher is clearly a bit jealous of us having a goalkeeper that can actually catch a ball going into the new season.

Liverpool, of course, have Loris Karius who still appears concussed after what happened at Tranmere whilst Simon Mignolet is somehow number 2 behind that.

Meanwhile, we’ve got arguably England’s best player at the World Cup in goal and that is bound to grate on some of them across Stanley Park.

In a light-hearted exchange with Tony Scott, Carragher claimed that a bid would be incoming for the former Sunderland stopper:

Certainly, it’s clear that Pickford would walk into Liverpool’s team with ease and it’s nice to see that they’d rather another club come in and try and sign him.

He’ll be going nowhere after this tournament, though, and hopefully we can build on his base and put together a strong defensive line in the coming weeks.
