Slovakia’s Ruzomberok or Norwegian club Brann will provide Everton’s Europa League qualifying opponents.

A return to European football, proper, will move a step close if the Blues can overcome this third qualifying round tie.

Everton will host the winner of the Ruzomberok-Brann tie, currently led 1-0 by the runners up in Norway last season, on 27th July with the second leg in Slovakia or Norway to come a week later, 3rd August.

In European action for the first time under Ronald Koeman, obviously, Everton return to Europe for the first time since 2014-15, having missed out on qualification before the Dutchman was appointed.

Victory in that tie would leave the Blues a play-off tie away from the competition proper, which of course can provide a backdoor route into the Champions League, as Manchester United found out last season, if you win it, as they did, beating Ajax.

Details of the tie were released on the Official Website.
