It’s been, what, just over a month that we’ve had Richarlison playing competitive football for us this season and it seems already that he is attracting interest.

Signed from Watford, we had the foresight to get after him and after an impressive start for club and country – red card at Bournemouth aside – other clubs are now getting linked.

We should, of course, expect to see such stories come about as that is the way the game is and it’s Mundo Deportivo – via Sport Witness – that has fired the starting gun here.

Indeed, they are of the opinion that Barcelona are looking to scout the player in the coming weeks with them obviously having history in going after South Americans.

The likes of Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez have left these shores for them and Richarlison seems like potentially their sort of player.

It is very early days, though, and so I think for now we don’t need to lose too much sleep about this.
