Nikola Vlasic has started this season well and that continued last night in significant style in the Champions League.
Marco Silva decided to snub the attacking midfielder during the summer and decided to let him go out on loan for the season.
He joined CSKA Moscow, then, and so far it’s looking like that might have been a mistake.
Of course, there is no guarantee he would have played well for us this year but, at the end of the day, he is doing well in the Champions League and that is no mean feat.
Added to that, he scored the winner against Real Madrid last night and so, clearly, he is a player of quality.
He’s commented about the performance too, telling UEFA via goal.com.
“It was probably the biggest match of my career so far.
“Do Everton regret letting me leave on loan? I wasn’t getting to the team so I came to CSKA and am very happy to be here and playing in big games like this.”
A player who performed in what he says was his biggest game says a lot and perhaps we should give him a chance once he returns.
Whether he wants that, though, remains to be seen.
