‘I’m on the Brands hype train now’ – Loads of Everton fans react as Brands nears ‘Amazing’ deal

Everton are close to signing Juventus striker Moise Kean for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £30million, according to The Times.

It is alleged that Director of Football Marcel Brands has reached an agreement with the Serie A giants for the services of the rising star of Italian football, who could arrive on Merseyside as soon as Friday, August 2 to carry out his medical and sign his Blues contract.

Negotiations between the Toffees and Azzurri are thought to have concluded on Thursday night, after both sides agreed not to include a buy-back clause in the 19-year-old’s contract.

The Guardian have noted that we could end up paying as much as €40millon (£36.5m) if all add-ons are paid, while Juventus will be informed if we receive any suitable future offer for Kean so that they will have first refusal on potentially re-signing the forward.

Everton will also pay Kean £2.75million-a-year, which breaks down to £52,884-a-week, just enough to make the striker our 15th-highest earner, ranking behind Oumar Niasse at £55,000-a-week, Cenk Tosun at £60k-a/w, Kevin Mirallas at £70k-a/w and Yannick Bolasie at £75k-a/w.

The board do not intend to stop the clubs’ spending with the purchase of 3-cap Italy international Kean, either, as The Times’ Paul Joyce adds that Brands, Chairman Bill Kenwright, and majority owner Farhad Moshiri are working on deals to further boost Marco Silva’s squad ahead of the new Premier League season.

Here’s how these Blues fans reacted when Joyce’s claim that we are due to welcome Kean to Merseyside for his medical was shared on Reddit
