Everton fans have been witnesses to some incredible goals in the Premier League era, but none come close to THAT James McFadden goal against Charlton.

The former Scottish international marked his return from injury in the 2006/07 Premier League season against the Addicks with one of the finest Toffee goals scored at Goodison Park this century, with McFadden’s stoppage-time winner against Charlton so good that Sky Sports News awarded the strike with their annual Goal of the Season award.

The goal was well remembered by Everton fans, and so when the Premier League’s official Twitter account posted the stunning strike as it’s daily ‘Goal of the Day’ post, plenty of supporters swarmed the post on social media to reminisce over the iconic moment.

Here’s how some Everton fans reacted on Twitter to McFadden’s incredible strike against Charlton…

The goal left some supporters dumbfounded over McFadden’s goal, which won goal of the season over the likes of Robin van Persie, Paul Scholes and Didier Drogba, who all scored iconic volleys that season…

McFadden will be hoping one of the current Everton players takes note on how to score against London clubs this weekend when West Ham roll into Merseyside with the Toffees in desperate need of three points.
