“I Understand” – Silva Acknowledges Boos At End Of Wolves Shambles

|

With Everton seeing off Paris Saint-Germain’s late chase for midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye late on in January’s transfer deadline day, he was missing from the side as we faced Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier today.

Supposedly suffering from a slight injury, that won’t stop the speculation that he’s not best pleased to have been denied the move and that won’t be the only concern for fans as it was largely another poor performance on Goodison Park soil.

Wolves took the lead from the penalty spot seven minutes in, and although Andre Gomes had us back on level terms midway through the first half, the visitors restored their advantage in the 45th minute.

They added a third just after the hour mark and Everton were done in on the day and plenty of questions will be asked in the fallout.

Speaking to the BBC following the fulltime whistle, manager Marco Silva said of the day’s efforts.

“I understand they expect to see a good afternoon and a good game. They want us to achieve the position in the table and I can imagine they are not happy. We must keep fighting to improve.”

Best I don’t comment as I’ve had a drink.
