Everton’s rise under Marco Silva has hit a stumbling block during the past few weeks, as the Toffees have now gone four Premier League matches without a win.

Improvements have been shown during the season so far but the general consensus is that a new striker should be the priority in January to provide a spark in the final third, where Everton have lacked consistency.

While it is highly possible that Silva will bring in a new forward when the window opens in a few weeks time, he is also keeping his cards close to his chest by issuing a challenge to young Dominic Calvert-Lewin to make a first-team spot his own.

The 21-year-old scored Everton’s consolation goal in a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday and has three goals to his name this season from 15 appearances – and many still want more from the youngster.

After hearing of Silva’s challenge to the England U21 international, many Everton fans shared their thoughts and we have gathered some of their comments below.
