“I Don’t Think There’s Anyone Better” – Former England International Backs Everton’s Deadline Day Capture

Former England international striker Darren Bent has heaped praise on Everton’s deadline day capture of former Arsenal attacker Alex Iwobi.

Talented Arsenal Attacker Arrives Late At Goodison Park – A Vital Piece Of The Puzzle

The 23-year-old versatile attacker made the switch to Goodison Park from the Emirates for an undisclosed fee, but it was widely reported to be an initial £28million, which could rise to £34million over the course of his five year contract with us.

Speaking to Football Insider, Bent stated that he felt Iwobi would be the ‘perfect teammate’ given the Nigerian internationals commitment and work rate on the pitch.

“If you talk about work ethic, attitude towards the game, I don’t think there’s anyone better. I think he always works hard, always gives 100 per cent. He’s one of those guys you want in your team because he works hard and does everybody else’s running. He probably is the perfect teammate with regards to his work ethic and attitude because he leads by example and work ethic.”

With Iwobi coming in as a somewhat surprise capture given he featured for manager Unai Emery 51 times across all competitions in the season of 2019/20, fans are certainly hoping he becomes a key addition for us when he settles in.

We can only hope that Bent’s words are correct here, and that he does settle quickly and is soon showing what he’s capable of on the pitch for Marco Silva, as he is another player that should only improve as he builds on his already decent Premier League experience given his age.
