Everton forward Henry Onyekuru is awaiting a work permit to be approved so we can start seeing him play in this country and his next step to doing that might not be far away.
Indeed, he is in contention to play for Nigeria in the international break after impressing so far out on loan from us and that could be big in the long-run.
He needs to be playing at a high-level to earn permission to work in this country and playing at a senior level for Nigeria would certainly constitute that.
With Victor Moses out of their team thanks to retirement he has the opportunity to play regularly but, as ever at that level, there is competition.
What he needs to do, then, is earn a spot and then rack up the caps because, after that, he might just have a permit approved.
Let’s see if he can do it.
