Everton are battling to find their feet under new boss Marco Silva after what has been a turbulent few years for the Merseyside outfit.

After 11 years under the guidance of David Moyes, the Toffees have had four permanent managers since the Scottish boss moved to Manchester United and Silva is looking to fair a lot better than his predecessors at Goodison Park.

The longest-serving boss during that period was Roberto Martinez, who lasted just short of three years, but the current Belgium coach is not remembered that fondly by fans after what was the start of a period of mid-table struggles.

Martinez has since led Belgium to the World Cup semi-finals and that achievement seems to be a driving force behind Real Madrid’s reported interest, as the European champions seek a new leader after axing Julen Lopetegui after their 5-1 drubbing against Barcelona.

It is fair to say Everton fans cannot quite believe what they are reading and we have gathered some of the best reactions below.
