Everton earned an important win yesterday afternoon in the Premier League as we put away Chelsea at Goodison Park 2-0.
In truth, it was a real game of two halves with the way the Toffees went about their business.
In the first half, there seemed to be a hangover from the game with Newcastle as we were timid and ponderous and, effectively, waiting to concede.
We went in level, though, and whatever was said at half-time clearly worked as we came out rejuvenated and ready to get at the London club.
Throughout the game, though, one man impressed again and that was Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The striker has been excellent with his work-rate and ability to really hassle opponents and that was not lost on fans watching on yesterday afternoon.
Let’s take a look at the praise he earned on Twitter for his performances…
Brilliant second half. Excellent from Richarlison and Pickford. Another quality game from Calvert-Lewin. #efc 👏🏻

Normally slate Calvert-Lewin but thought he was boss there 👍

Dom Calvert-Lewin lead that front line on his own brilliantly. He gives you 11K distance every game. Has one of the top 3 sprint speeds in PL. Excellent technique and first touch, and is brave and strong. Just needs to up his goal scoring game now. #EFC

Calvert-Lewin deserved a goal for his performance today. He always works so hard and never gives in. He is Stracqualursi-esque in that regard, but with more natural ability, obviously.
I like that he's getting a run in the side at the moment. #efc

Another top draw performance from Dominic Calvert-Lewin today. Worked tirelessly until the very last. Deservedly #EFC’s first-choice striker

Silva has his first major scalp of his #EFC tenure. Gueye, Calvert-Lewin & Digne excellent

An exciting time for the striker, then, let’s just hope he can start scoring more.
