Everton entered the international break in decent form after holding Chelsea to a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge and some of their squad have continued to excel on international duty.
Jordan Pickford continued his role as England’s first-choice stopper in a 3-0 victory over the United States at Wembley, playing the entirety of the first period as the Three Lions gave an international farewell to the nation’s all-time leading scorer Wayne Rooney.
Goals from Jesse Lingard, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Callum Wilson gave England a comfortable result at the end but it was not always an easy ride for the World Cup semi-finalists, who found problems dealing with Christian Pulisic.
The Borussia Dortmund ace had a great chance to open the scoring moments before England took the lead but was thwarted by a fine stop from Pickford one-on-one, which saw the Toffees star earn plenty of plaudits for his display.
