Everton secured their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup by defeating League Two leaders Lincoln City 2-1 at Goodison Park on Saturday, avoiding a potential banana skin in the process.
Goals from Ademola Lookman and Bernard in the first half were enough to get Marco Silva’s side over the line and fans are hopeful that it could be the start of a resurgence after experiencing some tough times during the busy festive season.
The Toffees have won just one of their last five Premier League matches heading into this weekend’s clash with Bournemouth and, having caught the eye in the victory over Lincoln, many believe that Lookman has earned his chance from the off.
21-year-old Lookman continues to attract the attention of Bundesliga side RB Leipzig but Everton are keen to retain his services, although it may mean that he needs to be handed more opportunities as a starter.
We have gathered some of the comments from supporters on Lookman’s latest performance below.
It was ugly…very ugly in places, but more importantly we’re in the hat for the 4th round. Lookman has to start against b’mouth in place of Theo…being positive about our chances in the cup! #EFC

Kenny and Lookman our two best players today. Gomes has a good half he was on. Not much else to say #efc

Can’t imagine getting two goals from two players who need a goal more than Lookman and Bernard there. Excellent start. #EFC
