The end of the 2018 campaign has been a bit of a mixed bag for Everton with manager Marco Silva’s side showing both the best and the worst in recent matches, and it didn’t get much better in our final game of the year as we suffered a defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion in our most recent Premier League clash.

Heading to the Amex Stadium, a goal from the hosts just prior to the hour mark was enough to settle the affair as Everton fell to a 1-0 defeat but we did have the chances to have at least taken a point from the game – plenty will feel a point would’ve papered over the cracks in the performance though.

Given the showing on the day, statistics website Whoscored reflected that in their player ratings but Lucas Digne once again did himself credit as he took the Man of the Match rating with a score of 7.47.

Completing the top five were Michael Keane (7.13), Idrissa Gueye (7.10), Kurt Zouma (7.05) and Seamus Coleman (6.75).

A New Year and fans will be hoping we get back to winning ways and then find some greater consistency.
