The former Everton academy product who departed the Toffees on a free in the summer of 2018 to join then League One side Plymouth Argyle has announced on his official Twitter account that at the age of 23 he is retiring from professional football after failing to recover from an ankle injury.
The centre-forward, who hasn’t been on the field in a professional match since November 2018 as stats from Transfermarkt show, has been dealing with the problem for the good part of two years, and Dyson’s decision to retire from the game so early stunned Everton fans on social media, who came out in their droves to offer their support to their former academy player.
