Everton fans following the news today won’t have been able to help but stumble over reports that former Barcelona centre-half Yerry Mini had suffered a fresh injury blow.

French outlet L’Equipe had reported that the 24-year-old Colombian international had ‘cracked’ a metatarsal in his left foot during a training session on Wednesday as he worked his way back to fitness following the injury he arrived at the club with, that has already kept him sidelined and he’s yet to make his club debut.

As the day has gone on, the news has improved somewhat as it’s now said he hasn’t suffered a metatarsal break, so presumably it’s just heavy bruising as the Liverpool Echo are claiming our medical department view it as only a ‘minor’ setback for the player.

Hopefully, that will prove to be true as with ongoing defensive issues at the club, Mina is considered the potential saviour when it comes to tightening us up this year as we look to push on.

As the above social media comments demonstrate, it’s the news has certainly got fans concerned.
