Everton have shown signs of progress under the guidance of Marco Silva but a sequence of four matches without a win has proved that further work is required.

The Toffees face another tough task this weekend when they host Mauricio Pochettino’s top-four chasing Tottenham at Goodison Park, where there is a big chance the unwanted winless streak could be extended to five matches.

Overall, supporters seem pleased with the work that Silva has conducted since arriving on the blue half on Merseyside but one fan had a sensational suggestion on social media after the news that Manchester United had sacked Jose Mourinho.

He called for Everton to bring the Portuguese boss into the club to replace his compatriot, stating his belief that Mourinho would guide the Toffees to trophies within 18 months – which earned a number of responses on social media.
