Stoke’s Britannia Stadium has been known as one of the toughest away trips in recent seasons in the Premier League and that’s the next stop on Everton’s fixture list.

A mixture of the style that Tony Pulis has got his Stoke side playing and the atmosphere created in their stadium has left many teams leaving Staffordshire pointless.

This season they boast the fourth best home record in the Premier League and like ourselves remain undefeated at home this season.

“It’s always a tough place to go because they’re a very good team defensively, and physically they’re obviously one of the biggest teams in the Premier League so they’re a threat from set pieces,” Gibson told evertonfc.com.

If the Champions League is a real target this season though we have to be looking at trips to the like of Stoke and get something from the game. We’ve only lost twice all season, so if we can return to Goodison Park with that fact in tact then it will have been a good result.

He continued: “we’ve been on a good run of form the last few games so hopefully if we can keep playing well I think we can go there and get a result.

“The [Stoke] fans are unbelievable there and like a 12th man but I think their size has a lot to do with it. They’re well organised and good defensively but they’re not impossible to beat at home. If we can go there, play our normal game and play well, I think we’ll get a result.”
