While we’ve been comparatively quiet in the transfer window to date, we have made some purposeful moves regarding the future of our young talent. The latest player to commit his future to the club is the midfielder, Alex Denny.
The young midfielder has signed his first professional contract with the club, and he has committed his future to the club until the conclusion of the 2019/20 season, and the midfielder has set his sights on continuing his development this season.
The following quotes are from Everton’s official announcement.
“To sign my first contract with the club I have been at since I was nine is special for me,”
“I am looking forward to continuing my development and getting as close to the first team as I can.
“That [his smooth transition from Under-18 to Under-23 football] is credit to the staff and all the other boys who have helped me. “
“There are differences in terms of the intensity but with the help of the staff, and me getting on with it and throwing myself in at the deep end, I took to it well.”
Rather unfortunately, the Everton fans on Twitter were more focused on the lack of first-team signings.
