Brendan Galloway’s bid to impress Everton boss Ronald Koeman will again come from afar as the defender have been allowed to leave Goodison Park in a loan capacity once again.

Galloway, who didn’t have the loan at West Brom anyone would have hoped, barely featuring for our Premier League rivals, has sealed a temporary move to Sunderland.

He’ll spend the 2017-18 campaign at the Stadium of Light, as our friends at Vital Sunderland inform us:

Simon Grayson’s first transfer as Sunderland boss has seen an arrival from Everton. However, this isn’t Aiden McGeady, as rumoured, it is in fact his teammate Brendan Galloway.

Chances are they will soon become teammates once again at the Stadium of Light anyway?

Galloway, who made his MK Dons debut aged just 15 in 2011, was loaned to West Brom last season and the Everton defender will spend this season with Sunderland, arriving on a season-long deal.

During his time at Goodison Park the Zimbabwe-born former England international, at levels from U17-U19, has made 20 Premier League appearances for his parent club – he was restricted to just five games at West Brom last season though.

It will be anticipated, as Sunderland’s good relationship with Everton on the transfer front continues, Galloway, 21, would be a regular in the Black Cats’ starting XI, be that in central defence or at left back.

Does Galloway have a future at Everton? Successive loans since Koeman arrived does raise a few question marks with this spell on Wearside perhaps a decisive one as far as the long-term future of the 21 year old is concerned on Merseyside.

This transfer was reportedly part of a double switch? However, the rumoured loan to the Championship club of Tyias Browning hasn’t yet been finalised – assuming it will?
