Henry Onyekuru may finally be about to land a UK work permit, but Monaco, Schalke and Borussia Dortmund have all made fresh approaches to snatch the 21-year-old from Everton, according to AOIFootball.
It was reported at the start of the week by TEAMtalk that Paris Saint-Germain were long-term admirers of the Nigerian forward, and were preparing to offer £20million for his services in the summer.
The Parisian outfit have now been joined in confirmed interest by their Ligue 1 rivals, however, as AOIFootball have authoritatively stated that Monaco are willing to present a challenge for Onyekuru’s signature.
As for the Bundesliga duo, both are believed to be holding talks with the 7-cap international’s representatives, while Brexit is playing a part in Schalke’s reported interest, as they are hoping that the situation will force Everton to sell the winger.
Dortmund, on the other hand, consider our man as a potential replacement for Chelsea-bound Christian Pulisic, after Onyekuru found the net twice against Antalyaspor on Monday to move his tally for the Super Lig season to eleven.
Everton’s stance on the matter is somewhat hopeful, it has to be said, as it is again noted that we have been in constant communication with the striker to discuss his future role at Goodison Park.
The club are also growing in confidence that Onyekuru will be handed a UK work permit in time for next season, so long as he features for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations in June.
However, the matter has also been clouded by Onyekuru himself, after hinting that his future lies away from Merseyside when he claimed he was ‘at home’ on Twitter, after scoring twice against Antalyaspor.
