Theo Walcott could be heading for an Arsenal exit in the New Year and if he does the forward – previously interesting Ronald Koeman during the summer – could end up at Goodison Park.

Walcott, linked with Crystal Palace as well as Everton, should leave Arsenal, according to pundit Jason Cundy, who feels the former Southampton forward should ‘consider’ the Blues.

Cundy was quoted by the Daily Star: ‘Walcott should consider Everton and also Crystal Palace. They are desperate for someone up top. I very much doubt he will go there, though.’

An Arsenal player for the past 12 years, managing 100 goals in this time, Walcott hasn’t made a Premier League start this season with the England forward slipping behind the Gunners’ club record signing Alexandre Lacazette.

Former West Ham – a club also credited with an interest – goalkeeper Shaka Hislop hasn’t been ‘a huge fan’ of Walcott’s over the years but also feels the time is right for him to leave the Emirates Stadium, in fact he’s surprised ‘how long’ Walcott has spent in North London.

Hislop added: ‘I’ll be honest, I think it’s about time Theo Walcott left Arsenal and look for pastures new. I’ve not been a huge fan of Theo Walcott over the years. I’m amazed at how long he’s been at Arsenal and how little he’s really offered during that time.’

In all honesty I’m in agreement with the Trinidadian when it comes to Walcott – he’s rarely lived up to the hype and hasn’t delivered enough so wouldn’t be too unhappy if he didn’t arrive at Goodison.

This could be the right move though, as far as Hislop is concerned.

On a potential Blues move he said: ‘The link with Everton is understandable. Everton may need a player of that quality, a player with that pace and that experience.’
