Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Academy graduate Ellis Simms after the club confirmed over the weekend that the highly rated 18-year-old youngster had now penned his first professional deal at Finch Farm.
The lad joined our Academy two years ago and the striker is highly rated by our coaching staff and the contract comes as a reward for the progress he’s made in the years since. In the youth campaign of 2018/19 he scored 46 goals across all competitions and he’s now looking to replicate that as he steps up to David Unsworth’s double winning Under 23 setup next season.

Fans were rightly pleased with the news as we always like a homegrown Academy graduate coming through the ranks and given some of the comments from those who I assume have seen him in action, his future could be very bright indeed.
Campbell certainly had high praise as he reacted to the news himself on social media.
I’ve known Ellis since he was a kid a Man City! Very talented young man and he has a chance to make it if he can develop properly. Congratulations Ellis ????????????????????????
