Aston Villa’s Anwar El Ghazi has had a pretty decent season in the Championship during the campaign of 2018/19 and he’s more than played his part in helping the Midlands side into the Play-Off Final, contributing five goals and six assists as they booked their place at Wembley this year.

Not a bad return for the 24-year-old in his maiden year in English football and in a recent interview with Dutch TV whilst the expectation is that Villa will use the buy clause they have on the loan arrangement with French side Lille (believed to be in the region of £5million), El Ghazi did confirm that he’d had contact with clubs currently in the Premier League as well as he looks to his future.

Former Everton player Andy van der Meyde still seems to hold a grudge following his, erm, less than successful spell at Goodison Park and he provided the following outburst.

“Don’t do it. Don’t. Do. It. Everton, what a s*** club. Please don’t go to Everton because it would destroy you. Just look at me!”

Should’ve heard of a mirror at his age you’d have thought.
