Ross Barkley was someone we all wanted to see excel at our club but he moved to Chelsea in the hunt for whatever he wanted from his career.

Indeed, he’s not exactly met his potential so far and though he is playing a bit more this season, it is hard to say that he’s performing how he was at his best for us.

However, that’s not stopped him from throwing a sly dig at some of our former managers and Antonio Conte.

As per the Express, he said:

“Right now I would say Sarri’s philosophy has helped me a lot because over the years I haven’t been coached much.

“I am at an age now where I understand football a lot more and I know how important it is to take the different tactics from different managers on board.”

Admittedly, Ronald Koeman and Barkley never really got on but under Roberto Martinez he played some excellent stuff.

Who he is actually referring to is up for debate but it seems at least one former Blues boss is coming under fire here.

What he needs to do more, though, is start doing his talking on the pitch instead of via the media.
