Late yesterday evening Everton confirmed that agreement had been struck with Villarreal over the sale of Argentinian international (they’ll wake with sore heads after last night’s World Cup clash with Croatia!) Ramiro Funes Mori.
On the subject of Croatia, I didn’t think The Man With The Mental Hair did that badly myself.
Earlier yesterday the rumour mill speculated that Middlesbrough gaffer Tony Pulis had launched a £5million bid for the player, and the reaction from fans was that we should be holding out for in the region of double figures at least, even if his time at the club should clearly be up.
Everton Should Deal With Middlesbrough But Not At That Price
As the day progressed though Middlesbrough were removed from the equation and the 27-year-old leaves Goodison Park for the Spanish outfit after they finished fifth in La Liga in 2017/18. He has signed a four year deal with them that will expire in 2022. The fee is undisclosed.
The reaction from the faithful was classy in fairness, paying attention to the injury he suffered that certainly affected his playing time and probably soured his spell with us in terms of him reaching the potential some once saw in him.
Wish him luck.

Good bye @funesmoriofi25, you were a great servant to the club with tons of passion I would have taken you over other defenders at the club but Good Luck, once a blue always a blue

Good player, shame his knee was made of weetabix last season

Good luck @funesmoriofi25 knew how to score a goal and can't question his effort. Unfortunately not quite good enough at this level for what he's meant to do.
