A few Everton fans have been reacting on social media after the club confirmed that youth defender Morgan Feeney has joined Tranmere Rovers on loan.

The 20-year-old has been a part of our youth set-up since the age of seven and helped the club clinch a Premier League 2 and Premier League Cup double last term under Under23s boss David Unsworth.

It was Feeney’s second PL2 title having clinched the trophy in 2016/17, as well, when he was one of the youngest players in Unsworth’s squad.

Feeney has since gone on to be named captain of the U23s and has 68 appearances at age level to his name, including 15 outings in all competitions this term which have seen the Bootle-born product net twice.

He will now move to League One side Tranmere for the remainder of the season, where he will play under head coach Micky Mellon as the Prenton Park side strive to retain their third-tier status.
