A few Everton fans have been reacting on social media after one supporter shared a short clip of Carlo Ancelotti’s immediate response to the teams emerging from the tunnel on Saturday.
Ancelotti was in the stands as we drew nil-nil with Arsenal in the hours after his appointment as Marco Silva’s successor was confirmed, with the Italian signing a four-and-a-half-year deal to take charge at Goodison Park following his sacking by SSC Napoli.
There was not much to get Ancelotti’s heart rate going during the game as both sides produced drab performances, capitalised by the Toffees failing to register a single shot on target in a Premier League game for the first time since we lost 2-0 to Manchester United on January 1, 2018.
Can we begin Ancelotti's tenure with a win vs Burnley on Boxing Day?
Yes
No
The response given by the Goodison Park faithful as the teams emerged from the tunnel ahead of kick-off left an instant impression on Ancelotti, though, as the 60-year-old could be seen mouthing “wow” as fans took to their feet to applaud the players onto the pitch.

Ancelotti was clearly taken back by the reception he received, as well, as the Italian later took to Twitter himself to share his gratitude for the warm welcome given.
What an amazing reception at Goodison Park. Very motivated. https://t.co/VH0JdKR4kF
