Lucas Digne was lauded by some supporters after Everton beat Sheffield Wednesday in Tuesday’s EFL Cup clash. The Toffees won 2-0 at Hillsborough courtesy of a brace from Dominic Calvert-Lewis, but Digne came away with a lot of credit from fans for his performance.

As per WhoScored, the 26-year-old played a full 90 minutes, made 75 touches, won five aerial duels, created two chances, made two tackles, had one shot, completed 84.8% of 46 passes, made one interception, whipped in seven passes, had a 66% accuracy ratio with his long balls, made three clearances and blocked one shot.
Digne has impressed for Everton since joining from Barcelona in 2018, scoring and creating 13 goals in 44 appearances from left-back, and was handed the captain’s armband on Tuesday. He’s keeping Leighton Baines out of the matchday squad and has played nearly every minute (523) of every game (540) in all competitions this season.
Everton booked their place in the fourth round of the EFL Cup after beating Lincoln City 4-2 in the second round and Wednesday in the third. Their next game, however, is at home to Manchester City.
