Lots of Everton fans have been reflecting on the club’s 2-0 win over West Ham United in March 2019, which some consider to be one of our best away displays in recent years.

Marco Silva’s Toffees visited the London Stadium on this day a year ago and would take advantage of a “complete disaster” of a performance from Manuel Pellegrini’s men, whom the Chilean would tear into during his post-game media duties.

Pellegrini was left livid at the Irons’ attacking and defensive efforts, while emotions were of stark contrast in the away dressing room where Silva – like many supporters – argued we could have scored far more.

Chelsea loanee Kurt Zouma opened the scoring for the Blues inside the fifth minute of the Premier League affair, with what would be his last goal for Everton before returning to Stamford Bridge at the close of the campaign.

Summer 2018 signing Bernard was also on the scoresheet in east London as he fired home his first league goal in Royal Blue, with the Brazilian tapping home Seamus Coleman’s low cross.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

Silva’s Toffees side had fashioned seven on target shots by the time the teams headed back down the tunnel at the break, which was the most we had managed in the opening 45 minutes of a top-flight fixture since a meeting with Reading in November 2012.

We would go on to add a further ten on-target efforts in the second half but without beating Irons’ goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, who saved the Hammers any embarrassment on home soil as we ran riot at the London Stadium.

Here are some of the messages shared from fans who have reflected on the result a year later, following a post by the club on Twitter sharing highlights of the game…
