Loads of Everton fans have been reacting on social media after the Liverpool City Council shared a breakdown of the expected timeframe for our new stadium built on the Bramley-Moore Dock.

The club announced on Wednesday, February 19 that Laing O’Rourke had been appointed as the ‘preferred contractor’ for the 52,000-capacity ground set alongside Liverpool’s waterfront.

Both parties will now work in partnership developing a detailed and robust design and delivery programme, having struck a pre-construction services agreement for a design and build contract.

Everton are hoping to receive a final decision on the planning application by the summer, with locals having until March 20 to leave their comments as part of a formal public consultation period.

If given the go-ahead, the first build stage is expected to take place on September 28, 2020 with car parks & externals plus the demolition and infill of the dock.
