Explained: Why Shani Tarashaj hasn’t featured for FC Emmen since leaving Everton?

|

Shani Tarashaj joined FC Emmen on loan in July after being deemed surplus to requirements, but the 24-year-old has yet to make his debut. Tarashaj has made the matchday squad on two occasions but has spent the majority of his stint in the Netherlands sidelined with injury.

He was an unused substitute against Ajax (August 10) & Heerenveen (August 17) and played 45 minutes for the reserve-team against Heerenveen u21s (August 19), but Tarashaj was ruled out with an injury against Willem II (August 24) and hasn’t featured since.

Tarashaj has been out of action for a month-and-a-half and Emmen haven’t fared too well without him. They currently sit 14th in the Eredivisie with seven points from eight games, having won just one of their last five. Emmen next face Heracles on October 5, but it remans to be seen when Tarashaj make his debut.

As per Transfermarkt, the Swiss international hasn’t scored a senior goal since October 2016 and hasn’t represented his country since June, 2016. Tarashaj’s career is slipping by the wayside and his stock will continue to plummet until he returns from injury.
