Seamus Coleman was substituted in the first half of Everton’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United after picking up a quadriceps injury. The 31-year-old came off in the 28th minute and was replaced by Djibril Sidibe.
Carlo Ancelotti confirmed after Sunday’s game that Coleman would be assessed to see how severe the injury is, so it remains to be seen if he’ll be fit and available for Everton’s Premier League meeting with Chelsea on Sunday.

The 31-year-old has made 21 appearances in all competitions this season and has worked his way back into the starting lineup after struggling for form and playing time earlier in the campaign.
Coleman’s injury is a blow for Everton, as Sidibe’s own form has waned in recent weeks, but Ancelotti is forced to bring back the 27-year-old until his first-choice right-back recovers.
If the Toffees boss wasn’t convincing at recalling Sidibe, however, Mason Holgate can operate in the makeshift role. Cuco Martina is also a left-field option, but it’s hard to see him making an appearance after two years of inactivity.
Sidibe did impress earlier in the season, ousting Coleman in the starting lineup on merit, so he can be a valuable asset. The French international has made 23 appearances across the board since joining on loan from AS Monaco, but he can’t afford any more poor performances if he wants to turn his move to Goodison Park permanent.
